Samantha Jones Dance Academy will ensure that the personal data that you have provided to us will be processed in line with our Data Protection Policy, and your rights under the Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulations.

What personal data do we hold ?

The types of data we hold and process is:

Parent/Guardian contact details, including name, address, home and mobile telephone numbers and email address.
Parent/Guardian financial information, including invoices for class fees, costume/uniform, examinations, competitions, scholarships and special event activities such as dance experiences.
Student contact details, including name, date of birth, address, home telephone number and mobile telephone number if 16 years of age or older.
Student academic dance history.
Student allergy/medical conditions.

What will we do with your personal data ?

We will use this personal data for the day-to-day operation of Samantha Jones Dance Academy as a dance education and training organisation:

To invoice parents/guardians for services provided by Samantha Jones Dance Academy.
To enter students into Associated Board of Dance examinations, competitions, and scholarships.
To organize special events to further student dance experience.

We will not provide your information to third parties except where the law allows or requires. We will not share your personal data with any organization without your prior written consent. We may from time to time contact you about school activities which may be of interest to you and your child.

What is the legal basis for our use of your personal data ?

The legal basis for our use of your personal data:

To conduct business activities as a dance school.
To maintain financial information for taxation purposes.
To provide education progress and achievement.
To provide dance experiences for students.

How long will we hold your data ?

We will only keep your personal data for as long as we need to administer your child’s dance education and training. Unless the law requires us to keep it for longer. This in practice means that your personal data will be retained for 6 years in our accounting system.

Your rights

You have the right to access and obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to ask us to correct your personal data if there are any errors or it is out of date. You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing or transfer of your personal data. You also have the right to have your personal data erased.
