SENIOR 2 MODERN/TAP/COMMERCIAL

This class is for students aged 16 + years and extends training from the "SENIOR 1" class. ACRO is discontinued at Senior 2 level unless a student has an natural ability to continue with ACRO. This class is an examination class, and students will be encouraged to enter when Miss Sammi considers they are proficient enough, taking examinations up the highest ABD levels including Grade 5 “Student Teacher” and above.

COMMERCIAL

Commercial is a hard-hitting current style of dance that is taking over the industry. This class is also combined with our stretch class.

For those students who have, or would like to participate in ABD Festivals and Competitions the pathway forward is to strive and try-out for the “SJDA ELITE” squad. The Elite class is by invitation ONLY and has limited positions.

SENIOR 2 MODERN-TAP COMMERCIAL

UNIFORM

Girls:

Purple SJDA T shirt/crop top, black leggings/shorts/tights or other SJDA leggings, black split sole jazz shoes and full footed tap shoes (feet thongs for lyrical work if required).

Boys:

Black SJDA T shirt with black leggings/jazz pants, black split sole jazz shoes and black tap shoes.

CLASS TIMES AND DISCOUNT

Classes are held every Wednesday from 5:15 – 6:30.

A discount is offered for those students that are proficient to study pointe. Senior 2 Ballet class and Pointe class is offered at a discounted price if taken together (Pointe is held Thursday 6:15 – 6:45).

Sibling and Term discounts also apply, if eligible.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This class is the most senior class and therefore taught only by Miss Sammi. Students in this class will focus on the highest senior level Modern, Tap and Commercial techniques and enhanced performance levels. Students are eligible to be in the SJDA Show, which is held at the Neeld Hall in Chippenham.
