Children, young people and parents will be informed to report to Samantha Phillimore any safeguarding concerns and know that these will be taken seriously and acted upon.

This policy will be regularly monitored by Samantha Jones Dance Academy and will be subject to review.

To bolster this child safeguarding policy, we are updating to include our long held changing room protocol of “No Adult Males allowed in the female changing facilities”.

This policy is enforced at class lessons held at Corsham Regis Primary School and events such as Festivals/Competitions and Shows. Corsham Regis Primary School is a mixed primary school and has limited toilet/changing facilities.  SJDA has many students of wide-ranging ages to accommodate using the limited school changing room facilities that are available.

CHANGING ROOM POLICY

The Samantha Jones Dance Academy policy, to protect the safety and preserve the dignity of female Students, Student Teachers and volunteers is;

No Adult Males are permitted in the female changing facilities.

SJDA will provide Male ONLY and Female ONLY changing facilities (for age 8 years and above). Where a parent/guardian is supervising an opposite sex child a separate private changing facility may be provided if a suitable facility is available.  Unfortunately, this is NOT possible at Corsham Regis Primary School, and therefore our policy of Male ONLY and Female ONLY facilities will be strictly enforced. Samantha Jones Dance Academy believe this policy is compliant with the Equalities Act 2010 reference: ( https://fairplayforwomen.com/changing_rooms/).
